The Marvelous Magical Automatic Email Button !!

There's a crappy little script that you may (or may not!) have seen at Cool Site Of The Day that opens an alert box and offers to 'automatically' subscribe you to their newsletter - you only need to click on the OK button, you will NOT have to fill in any email details. I find this gimmick VERY disappointing for an 'old stager' like Cool Site, a site that's been going since 1994 -- they must be desperate!

Anyway, I digress... what I've done here -- for those who HAVEN'T seen it, or can't be bothered to dig down into the 'intricate' coding (that's SARCASM folks!) -- is to provide an example and an explanation of just how this extensive code works (what a guy, eh?!?! :)

If you click the button marked Click! below, and then follow the instructions in the alert box that appears, an email from your default email account will be sent automatically to my email address at stuart@stuarthomfray.co.uk, and I will simply reply ONCE, to let you know that I have received it. Please be aware that you will NOT be sending me ANYTHING other than your email address , and all that I will do is reply to your message, then I will delete your email address. I ABSOLUTELY GUARANTEE that I will NOT re-distribute or re-sell your address (c'mon, you can trust me!!! ;) The whole thing behind this is certain people are selling this as a service, and I thought that I'd just highlight just how simple this is...
